Update on Asayo's Wish Children Emanual and Alima

Asayo's Wish has given a child - Hope. Alimo Agnes was brought to Kaberamaido Children’s Village in March. As her story unfolded, it is astounding what she has endured in her short 11 years of life. She has experience mankind at their worse. Alimo lost both her parents to the War. Her father was murdered in front of the whole family. The rebel army abducted her and her mother. She witnessed soldiers torturing and mutilating her mother to death. Alimo was abused and left for dead. Luckily, good-hearted people found her and her rescued her. They took her to her aunt's home. The aunt took her in and cared for her but Alimo was extremely ill. Her uncle did not want Alimo living with them because she was "damaged". They could not afford to take her to the hospital for treatment. Alimo was left lying in her bed, day and night, as the aunt and uncle waited for her to die. They had given up on her. The aunt said “death was her only savior”. Then by chance, her aunt heard about Asayo’s Wish Foundation - the Children's Village and what great things were being done for the children who lived there. She brought Alimo to us. We took her in, gave her a home and nursed her back to health. She is doing really well, attends school and sees a local counselor weekly to help her deal with her past. The atrocities she experienced has caused her to be shy and to say very little. But the good news is - she is doing very well, loves school, and hopes to be a teacher one day. As much as Alimo's story is tragic with what she has experienced and the unspeakable horrors she has had to live through, she now has hope for a brighter future with the loving support she receives at the Children's Village. A side-note, her 5yr old brother has joined her at the Village.

12 year Emanuel was paralyzed at age four from a mysterious illness … and needed his four year old brother Bosa's help to get to place to place… that is until Dr Bill’s donated a wheel chair for Emanuel… Dr Bill’s generosity has given Emanuel back his freedom and Bosa back his childhood, Bosa can now concentrate on just being a kid…
